The Seven Year Slip – Ashley Poston

In summer, I often find it hard to take time to sit down and read. I feel like I should make the most of every sunny day, so reading doesn’t always happen. But even with my slow reading summer, I finished this lovely book! It had been on my TBR for a while, and I was immediately drawn to the bright yellow cover.

The story is about Clementine, who is still grieving the loss of her aunt. She tries to distract herself with work, but living in her aunt’s old apartment makes it hard to move on especially when she suddenly meets a stranger there. Iwan brings something new into her life, and from that moment, she starts a journey of letting go and finding herself again.

The writing style is smooth and easy to follow. The descriptions made me feel like I was right there in the story. I also loved that it wasn’t a typical romance with predictable twists. As someone who reads a lot, I couldn’t guess what would happen next, which made it even more enjoyable.
